Health Insurance for Northern California Partner (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by smevey
I live in Oakland, California, and I'm switching over to health insurance through Starbucks as I will no longer qualify for Medi-Cal in a few weeks (I got promoted to SSV and my income is now above the state limit!!). I'm trying to figure out the different plans and providers right now, and I think I'm leaning towards the Gold plan and UnitedHealthCare California, but I don't really know what to look for. I'm VERY lost and would love some advice.

If you're in the East Bay or Northern California in general, could you share your experiences, what plans you've had and if you liked them, or any other info or advice you got when you were signing up that was helpful to you? I specifically want to know what the premiums are for all of the plans, because they're not listed on the Benefits Plan Description document.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!
