i want to be institutionalized- please help? (self.starbucksbaristas)

i think i’m going to admit myself into a psychiatric hospital sometime soon, or be “involuntarily” admitted bu a therapist for serious suicidal ideation. i’m not certain for how long but it may be close to a week minimum. i really don’t want to cause my manager or my partners any stress. will i be fired for this?

Don’t worry about anything! I went through this several years ago. My store manager and partner resources went out of their way to help me. When I came back they helped with shorter hours...less busy shifts, until I was back to 100%. I’m glad you’re reaching out for help! You are not alone! Processing the paperwork might be difficult in your current state. Talk to partner resources with your questions. If you have a mental health clinician like a therapist or psychiatrist that you can plan being admitted with that’ll help. You don’t have to quit. If any of your coworkers give you any crap they’re awful and unprofessional.
