Can I use sick time for a doctors appointment? I did not have a shift on that day. But I have a shift lead who uses his sick time whenever he goes to a dentist appointment. My store manager said I need to call out of a shift to use it. Any managers here that can help? I’m in the state of Washington, idk if that’s relevant to company policy. Thanks!

If your missing a day you normally would work on then yes you can do that. I used to do it and my manager was okay with it. Vacation time is what needs to be scheduled to be used, sick time does not.
