Hey, you lovely people! I've been thinking...there are subreddits for lots of things, like snack swaps so that you can get snacks from other countries and random acts of pizza where you can buy a stranger in need a pizza. Would anyone be interested in a barista swap subreddit? I think it would be so cool if we all had a way to trade, sell and buy stuff from other stores in other parts of the country/world. It's be amazing to work in the US and be able to wear the Canada Pride shirts, or to have a Starbucks mug from a store in another country. And, for partners who are getting promoted to customer, it would be a great way to give back, to donate old promotional shirts and aprons. Starbucks has such a lovely community and I think it would be amazing to connect with each other like that. What do you guys think?

Could we create flairs for this group? News, Marketplace, Rant, etc.? I've been hoping they'd show up soon. I think a marketplace flair would be awesome!

This makes me nervous because y'all would have zero support when it comes to scams, and you'll be giving your addresses to totally random strangers on the internet. I mean I could look into how subs like /r/hardwareswap do it I guess, make a bot to handle rep and all

If people are doing the swap, they could exchange partner numbers and do some verification that way. It's not perfect since receipt have numbers but it would allow them to verify that they're a partner in the correct region.

You can always write on a receipt before sending it somewhere, and I can't remember if gift receipts show the till partner's numbers - but also partner numbers are connected to full names and store number and location, and restricting it to partner numbers would exclude customers, no?

My thought is that swapping partner numbers before doing the exchange of address and whatnot would allow me to verify via partner hub / POS that I'm doing an exchange with a real partner (cross referencing store location).
The only issue is anyone with a receipt could impersonate a partner so it's not a perfect strategy.

it’s not reselling from my understanding, it’s you buy something for one partner and they buy something for you and y’all swap. kinda like pen pals but starbucks themed and with gifts
