Managers are the worst mids
agentdouble1s 31 points 3y ago
It's true! But I never ever ever want my team to be left with *my* mess from the morning so I always stay until I can get all those dishes done or make the cold brew or clean the cafe - whatever it takes. I don't get managers who can just ... Leave.

Wow please work at my store. I always come in to close and see a sink full of dishes and a Hobart that isn’t even turned on
Pomitlicious 4 points 3y ago
Ya okay at least you have a dish washer

What the— is that allowed

Ok so I do hate using Hobart. Mines way too hot and I have a better routine in my head using the full 3 compartment sink lol

Thé Hobart not being turned on grinds my beans

My manager does this thing where he schedules himself as the opening shift and then the poor soul/shift scheduled next has to come in and do all the crap he was supposed to do. I came in one day and he didn’t even bother doing the milk counts, dish mountain in the back. Zero prep done. Cold brew 5 hours overdue. Multiple people 1-2 hours overdue for a break. And the first thing he says to me when I clock in? “Hey can you put together a surprise and delight for some of our fellow plaza neighbours”.

Once I complained to my manager that people need to stop leaving blenders and pitchers on the rinsers and he legit came out on the floor ten minutes later, made a Frappuccino, and left the blender on the rinser.

Last time I ever complained.

This job makes absolutely no sense.

Why are managers universally messy?!? Mine just focuses so much on the backend part of her job that she completely neglects everything else. It sucks.

This.

I thing it's an universal thing. My manager doesn't know how to run a shift.

“It was too busy all day to have anyone on customer support”

I close tonight and when I walk in I am praying to the gods above that at the very least there are very little dishes
