I was standing in like at a Starbucks today and some lady behind me was telling her mom how they only had iced vanilla lattes, not hot and I didn’t know not to break it to her that anything cold can be made hot. (self.starbucksbaristas)

What about hot Frappuccinos

One time I had a family come in and order several different frappuccinos—two or three of them WITHOUT ICE. They basically wanted flavored milk, and newbie me died a little inside. I’ve had people ask to make them hot too and just tried to suggest lattes with similar syrups :’)

Also, I would like to say that it feels like a minor achievement to make it as a latte when all you’ve ever made it as is a frap. Not a major achievement by any means but a little one

You are exactly correct. And I explained that’s essentially what it is and she said sure that’s what she wanted. The only thing is melting the sauce because it’s so thick. Also I did dark caramel drizzle as well.

Frappuccinos are better without ice bc then you can make them when you get home and they won't be all melty.

So then do u still ask for the base to be put in? If not, why not just order an iced latte with syrup?

Every time someone asks me if I can make a Frappuccino hot, I offer to put a pack of the hot sauce in it. Then proceed to tell them no, we cannot make a Frappuccino hot.

I can actually see this happening if you're at a tiny store with only one machine and the steam wand messes up. One of ours went out the other morning and we got super backlogged. But that seems unlikely.

oh yeah, I get that but they were clearly making hot lattes and she was just reading the menu. I was also expecting her to say how they only had grande since that’s how our menu is too 😅
