Things to know about your RSU vesting / Stocks / Beanstocks / Grants (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by PiBolarBear
Beanstocks / RSUs : These are time based incentives. You earn them by still working with the company on the day that they payout. They payout over the course of 2 years, half at a time. Online you'll see the full pre-tax value that will change because it fluctuates based off the Starbucks stock price.

2. If you were hired before May 1, 2017 / 2018 you will receive the Beanstock / RSUs this year.

3. Vestings on November 14 / 15 will deposit the night of 18 / 19. Which is why you will hear that you can sell on the 20th - the first date you can sell because everything should be complete by then. (slightly different if you're outside the US)

4. You'll know that the distribution occurred because your stock will be moved into your Fidelity Individual account.

5. You'll see a lesser amount because Starbucks needs to hold back shares to pay for taxes (~30 - 42%).

6. There's no deadline to sell shares. Once they vest /distribute they are yours like any other bonus that pays out (even if you leave Starbucks). These are your Fidelity investment accounts and YOU get to choose when you sell them.

7. It's $4.95 if you sell online and $9.95 if you call in to have a rep at Fidelity sell them.

8. You have to log into Fidelity.com to add your bank info. Select "Transfer" then "Add a bank account" and add the EFT information. Otherwise you can just send yourself a check. Direct deposit takes 1-4 days and checks take 3-10 days depending on where you live in the US.

9. If your separation date is on file with Starbucks /Fidelity before the VESTING (not distribution) date, then your stock will be forfeit.

10. If you've been with the company since April 30, 2019 then you'll get the upcoming grant on December 9th to accept. This bonus will payout in 2020 and 2021 if you're still with the company.

Wow, thank you! This was very helpful as my SO has money we wanted to get but didn’t know when we were going to get it. Thank you so much!!

You're welcome! There's a ton of misinformation and I wanted to help clear things up.

Checked Fidelity’s website and the shares from the 14th have distributed into my account. Assuming the shares from the 15th will tomorrow evening. Feels like when I was a kid but old enough to make myself stay up late on Christmas Eve, peeking through the crack in my bedroom door every time I heard a noise. :)

Hahahaha. That's the perfect analogy. Merry Christmas :)

Thank you. I was fairly nervous about my shares not having shown up in my individual account yet.

Do you weed to set up an account with fidelity or is it already set up for us?? How do we access it..?
PiBolarBear [OP] 2 points 3y ago
The account itself gets created but you need to go to fidelity.com or netbenefits.com to make a username and password for your profile. Sometimes you'll need to call in to get it setup. The partner center accepts the grants for you if you didn't do you don't lose the bonus even if you aren't paying attention.
