Training my first greenbean today!(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Undidiridium_
My manager told me he wanted me to be a Barista trainer a couple weeks back and today is my first day of training. I'm excited to pass on my knowledge to another new worker.
I'm just excited and wanted to share. Never really thought of myself as someone that would train others.

Once you become a trainer, you kind of look at your job from a different lense. Good luck with them! I love training, I wish I still could as a shift

You can definitely still train people as a shift, my store has only shifts train

I'm not exactly sure the reasoning, maybe it's literally the fact that my hours (and time) is more valuable simply for to a limited pool of shifts? and we use training as a Segway into leadership

That might be, I think we have one trainer who isn’t a shift but all other trainers are shifts and I think it’s because you have to be a trainer to be a shift so they are the only ones who took the time to be certified so I literally always have to train on top of shift duties

You don’t have to be a trainer to be a shift, most shifts at my store (including me) were never trainers
