Not sure who to contact (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hello there. I’ve been working at Starbucks for about two and a half months now. During my time, although most of it has been pleasant, there are a few things that have irked me and now I’m considering quitting or contacting someone?

About three weeks ago I got sick in the middle of my shift, and threw up in the bathroom and outside of the bathroom. I told my shift manager, and she disregarded it, saying I was fine and to just take my 10 and get back to work. This happened a few more times during that week, I tried to call out but no one would cover my shift and I didn’t want to risk getting in trouble so I just went into work.

Now this week, my store manager called my dad (my emergency contact), to tell him I haven’t been into work in over two weeks(???), which is untrue. My last scheduled shift was on the 13th last week, and I’m working tomorrow, but I’m frustrated and not too sure what to do. My mental health is in a pretty bad place right now and I’m contemplating on just quitting. Any advice or similar situations?

yes, definitely take it to your dm. if your dm doesn't do anything, tell corporate. you absolutely should not be working if you're throwing up. any time something like this happened at my old store, the shifts would tell people to call corporate. shut that shit down bc if it's happening to you, it's def happening to someone else.

Also look into transferring

Transferring was the best thing to happen to me

You manager is obviously insane. Talk to your DM and then corporate then transfer the hell away from this person
