So I had my week of training last week and this Thursday I start for real and I’m having a lot of anxiety about starting because I don’t feel like I know how to make everything well enough and I’m scared of getting in the way of people or being to slow or people getting mad at me. I know it’s dramatic but I’m just panicking and don’t know what to do.

No one expects you to be fast or know everything. Take your time to learn things correctly as you go. Stop and take a breath when you feel panicked.
It will take a month or two to know what you're doing. It will take four to six months before you *feel* like you know what you're doing.
At the end of the day, it's just coffee. Hopefully you have a good team that will support you.

Take a deep breath. You’ll be okay :)
Nobody is expecting you to be the perfect barista on day one. One week isn’t enough time to be a master at anything.
Remember that it’s always okay to ask questions if you have them! You’ll develop your own memory tricks for little things. Your more seasoned partners will be happy to share theirs with you! The thing that will help the most is simply to practice. I used to hate bar, but that was because I was never on bar, and therefore I didn’t get any practice and wasn’t any good at it.
If you’re worried you’re in the way, ask your supervisor if there’s something you can do. Although you’ll probably be pretty busy!
Everything will be alright. I was in your shoes not too long ago. ❤️

Also if it is anything like my store they won’t have to trying to fill all the positions right of the bat they will stick you just on the front register and let you get comfortable with that before they even ask you to try and make drinks and stuff like that so don’t worry you’ll do fine.

If your store is anything like mine, they will want you to be comfortable before throwing you into something by yourself. If for some reason you do get placed on bar by yourself or you find yourself still with questions ( i know I did) do not be afraid to ask questions! Your team should be happy to help and assist you. Also if you ever really do need help it is ok to call for back up, Even some of the baristas at my store who have been there for years still have to ask for backup sometimes! Don't be afraid to speak up if your not comfortable being on bar yet.
