The difference between opening and closing is so drastically unfair... there's literally 9 million things that MUST be done before you can leave while open doesn't have to do shit their entire shift other than helping customers yet they get mad at *us* for not having the trenta iced lids 100% fully stocked or not preparing a backup cloud while they get to go home despite not stocking our fuckin MILKS and granting us with a Mt. Everest sized amount of dirty dishies 😐

So I’m wondering how your mids are???
Mornings are crazy. Stocking has to be done or everyone is SOL bc there is no one free to do extra. And with 80 transactions per 1/2 hour it’s exhausting. Granted the basics are always stocked before mids get there.
But the mids should be doing pre closing... unless they’re leaving it all to you. Less traffic... they have more time...
Since I have done all 3 I hate when different shifts get angry with others. It’s rare at my store but I refuse to join in.
It’s hard enough any shift.
But basics are morning should be fully stocked ready to go and leave it at least dated and stocked and clean. Mids fill the gap. Closers in theory should just be topping off and deep cleaning.

I've worked all 3 also since I'm basically the only one with open availability.

Tbh though, they're not as bad as I made it out to be. That comment was probably more of a projection from past jobs lmao.

We're also really short staffed right now and suupper busy like 85% of the time so I feel like everyone's pretty good about being understanding when things aren't perfect.

I'm also hoping that this isn't jusy my green bean pov, which I don't really think it is but we shall see as time goes on :)

Ok, maybe I spoke too soon...

I'm working 630-330 this ,we we're pretty fucking busy from 715-1045.

At like 1015, a coworker (who's also a shift but it's not her floor atm) notices we're SUPER low on backups. There's not really anyone on CSS right now, she and I are both sharing each other's duties when we need help - her, on cafe register, me, on food - so I ask if she wants me to go bust out some dishes since there is hardly even any clean ones to *DO* backups, and she says "yes please, I'll take over food".

So I bust out what we need most, TOTALLY soaked my apron more than ever before, SL asks me to finish a load and take over for cafe Barista. Ok, cool. I do. Get out on the floor. And notice both baristas and girl on window/drive literally *LEANING* against the counters (baristas with their fucking BACKS to the customers...) talking to each other, while there's NO ICED *OR* HOT T, G & V CUPS, NO HOT T & G/V LIDS and STILL NO BACKUPS, even though I brought my first load of clean ones out - the dishes that we *SPECIALLY NEEDED, btw* - when they were done with their sanitizer machine cycle... 😪😪😪

Fuckin jokes on them though cause I start doing what we needed most then get git with like 9 cafe drinks including 4 didnt fraps (drive Barista *finally* helped with my drink #6...) but then it was time for my lunch! Which I'm on right now!

I'll update the condition of the floor on my next break! Have a feeling it'll be just as I left it 😒
