Help with bar (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Temo-EEF
I’m two months into the job and I was put on bar today, and to be honest it went really poorly. I haven’t been on bar since my training and I’m mostly on POS the majority of the time. I want to get better at bar, but my manager tells me I’m on POS a lot because I’m “great with customer connection.” Does anybody know any ways that I can study up on bar? I want to be the best barista I can be so that I can pull my weight!

Honestly looking at the app at all the ingredients for drinks helped me. Also remembering each drink is either based in a latte, coffee frap, or is a refresher/tea and you just use the shaker. Any differences in drinks come in the types of syrups and sometimes milk

The way I learned bar quickly was that I helped make drinks when drive thru was busy but cafe wasn’t they enjoyed the extra hand sometimes but also I would make my own drinks as a way to get the system down. Another thing I would say is don’t feel to bad. It takes quite a while before a green bean is put on bar or drive thru sometimes more green beans have to come before you get your chance

You will get better with practice, just ask ur supervisor for more time on bar when it's slow.

Remember grande 4. Minus or plus from there.
And Frappuccino bar 2, 3, 4. Everything.
Teas are on the shaker.
Helped me.
There are exceptions (CM, flat white, blonde espresso, cappuccinos) but those are the absolute basics.
