So my manager is 22, turning 23 in a couple weeks. We have worked together for our entire time are Starbucks, she was in fact hired only a few weeks before I was. Pretty much straight out the gate our old manager started taking advantage of her and had her do his job (inventory, ordering, launches, etc) with MINIMAL training and no managers pay. He strung her along for about a year saying he was going to retire or quit but he never did until he was FINALLY let go. This dude was a serious asshole. He was manager for 10+ years and lost us lots of business, got in trouble with our DMs and GMs but blamed his mistakes on his team when we were only doing what he had trained us to do, which was 100% wrong. She’s been manager for a little over a year now and with her help we have boosted our sales, gained back our old customers, raised our customer connection score, and boosted us into #1 in our district and division. I’m just so so proud of her. She deserves it like no one else.
TL;DR???? my manager who has only been doing this a year boosted my team into #1 in our district and division and was recognized as leader of the quarter today. Our old manager was a miserable douche who worked for 10+ years as manager and did nothing but take advantage of his team.
