Charging for extras at a Target Starbucks??? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by EmpressDaniQ
Hey, I’m a somewhat-new team member at a Starbucks inside of a Target. The problem is that almost no one there has any actual Starbucks training, so our policy is kind of winging it. So, I was wondering, how are we supposed to charge for extras? Like if someone orders 2 extra pumps of chai, do they just get an extra syrup charge once? Like, I had a guy order 12 pumps of chai in a venti. How many times do you charge someone?
With the Tik Tok drink thing where people ordered 12 pumps of Raspberry in a venti water, how much would you charge them for syrup? My trainer told me charge them once for every 2/3 extra pumps. It’s super confusing because every barista seems to charge differently for extras. 😭

although licensed stores may be different but at corporate stores we charge for a syrup or ingredient that isn’t already in the drink recipe they’re ordering. Sounds dumb but for example if they get a chai w 12 pumps there’s no extra charge. But if they got a chai with reg pumps and just one vanilla we would syrup charge. Same goes for the rest of the drinks.

Thanks for responding. That’s so different from how I’ve seen things done so far. Would that also apply to when people want toppings that aren’t included in their drink? Like caramel drizzle/sprinkles/etc? I’ve seen some people charge for those things sometimes, but not always.

yep! it would. the only topping we wouldn’t charge for is like cinnamon powder and nutmeg and dolce.

Anything after 10 pumps of each individual flavor has to pay for one extra pump i.e. 50 cents or whatever Target charges
