Working with family members at Starbucks. (self.starbucksbaristas)

My store manager keeps hiring flakey baristas who’re only scheduled three days a week, yet continue to find coverage or make no call no shows. My store manager will then call in her daughter to cover the shift (whom works as a barista at another store in town). She also ONLY covers shifts at our store if she works with her mom. I know that this situation can’t work if they work out of the same store, but is this allowed?

It is generally frowned upon to have family working the same shift. They can work the same shift if they are the same position, but generally isn’t a thing that should be happening and managers should try not to schedule them like that. For example, in my district there are three brothers. One is an SM so the other brothers who are Shifts can’t work at his store. The two shifts at my store, one opens and the other closes. I’ve seen them work a shift together maybe twice.
