Over the years I have worked with Starbucks, I have pushed my limits to provide the very best of service during shifts. I have helped lead many stores, which were lacking our ethics, to reflect our message and values. I have been told by many customers and employs they value my positive approach, not only in my work, but for life as a whole. I believe full heartedly in our mission. Even when I was not employed with the company, I lived to inspire. I have felt, however, Starbucks is lacking in financial rewards for my commitment.

I had been told by many managers to be rewarded with higher pay I need to prove my determination to better myself and become a higher valued employ. I took this information and literally began jogging around stores. I was known at each store as an incredible hard worker, willing to Conquer any task.

I have had many customers and managers praise my quality of beverage. Some specifically ask that I craft their drinks knowing that it will be made at a superb level. I have helped lead with my skills to teach other employs to do the same.

May of my fellow baristas love my leadership style. I set examples and positive reinforcement as my key plans. Being observant of partners success, more than their failures, has helped me become a favorite in about every store I worked. I balance out training, support, and feedback with great accuracy, helping my partners grow rapidly.

My abilities as a shift are an example of my determination to be better for Starbucks. I have a lot of disadvantages being dyslexic, and I had feared the responsibilities of being a shift might be too burdensome for me to handle. Despite this, I persevered. Other shifts have looked up to me for motivation on becoming better. There are other shifts I have helped teach the paperwork and skills needed to be better during work.

I continue to be very flexible and patient with Starbucks, but I am upset about being misled by managers on how to be rewarded with better pay. I am living in poverty. It has been shown in studies performance of workers decreases when living off low wages. Written in a paper DFID (department of international developments) it states “There is overwhelming evidence that higher incomes lead to a better quality of life, not least in terms of the Millennium Development Goals on health and education.” With less stress outside my work, I can take on more responsibilities during my shifts.

I ask that I finally be listened to and given more suitable wage for all give to our company. I have become greater in just about every aspect needed for my position. My goal is to help grow others and myself to better help our mission. Cause of all this I ask for substantial wage increase outside our computer made wage plan. I wish to be treated as a human being and not as a cost for our business.

Agree!! I’m glad this worked, and not trying to be negative, but if you ask for another increase I’d have someone go over and proof read for grammar/spelling mistakes. That attention to detail may eventually lead to a management role. Congrats!!

The fact I’m shift lead amazed me enuf. I have a severe dyslexia. I would love to be store manager, but I was not born right for the roll.
