I think they’ll definitely still do their normal training since you haven’t worked at a Starbucks before (I’ve never worked at another coffee shop so I don’t know how different the two really are) but I still think they’ll value your previous training for basic stuff like being able to steam milk/use espresso machines/brew coffee, having current knowledge about coffee so you can answer questions, being able to recommend things to customers right off the bat based on that experience, and just generally knowing how to connect with customers (which Starbucks likes to emphasis). There will probably be a ton more benefits working for a corporation like Starbucks, and it’s one of the better company’s to work for (imo, depending where you live) in terms of how they treat employees.

I recently just switched from a privately owned Peet’s coffee to a corporate Starbucks and while I had to do the full new hire training, I noticed I got more hours than other green beans & places on bar much quicker than those hired with me. My shifts/SM really appreciate my prior knowledge of coffee and are also understanding when I’m a lil stuck in old habits from my previous job.
