Questioning About Staying // Needs tips or Advice (self.starbucksbaristas)

So, I have been working for the company for over a month now. Being new (Still), I do my ABSOLUTE best to make sure that whenever I am cleaning or doing register, to do it right!! Here's my problem though, I often at times overthink for the smallest of things....whether if it's getting a order wrong (Customer wanted a customized drink and I forget of the customization's, etc. and they slightly complained.) or feel like I have not cleaned efficiently / quickly (I will at times double mop / repetitively clean the same area and notice how long I be taking.) I begin thinking if I should still work here......

Does anyone have any advice on how to remain calm and control my self fear / doubt?

It’ll come with time. I was messy and slow when I first started as well, and I didn’t really calm down until I actually became more confident with the job.

We all make mistakes and miss customizations sometimes, we are human. Customers go to Starbucks expecting to wait for their drink, but if you’re worried about it just apologize and tell them you’re new, most people are understanding. And I’d rather someone take a bit longer to clean and have it done right rather than doing a half ass job.

You got this!

Everyone at my store said to me when I first started, “after about three months, you’ll stop feeling like you’re in the way.”
They were right.
It was probably at about 6 months that I felt like I had a handle on most things, but even at a year (it’s a year today for me!) I still make stupid mistakes and have to be coached.
I say, make it to at least three months and then reevaluate.
You’ll be great!

I’ve worked at several stores...IMO Sbux rushes through the training. None of these things are your fault and will come with time! Don’t worry too much, your shifts and managers are there to help coach you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. You’ll be fine partner!!
