Applying (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by natalieashleyy
So I just received a call from the hiring manager at my starbucks. I applied a while back ago and am finally getting a call back. I’ve been out of work for a few months looking but no one has called. The thing is I am moving soon possibly in the end of December from Washington state to Oregon. Should I give them a call back? Could I transfer if I was hired? I know i’m not hired yet but i am looking for a job. Once I move to Oregon i’m gonna be applying and it’d be nice if I could just transfer. Leave any tips please!

Your best option is to be honest. Companies, especially the Starbucks I have talked with, greatly appreciate honesty and openness.

You could always call and let them know. Because if you don’t call at all then you definitely won’t get hired!

that’s true haha i called my mom letting her know and she said just not say anything and say i didn’t know but i’m a bad liar. plus i don’t want to disrupt their business of hiring someone then they just leave

Not sure if it was an official transfer but my daughter started at Starbucks in St Louis and ‘transferred’ to one in Dallas when she moved there so my guess is you’d be able to do the same in Oregon.

My advice is to call them back and if they’re wanting you to come in for an interview be up front about moving soon and let them decide if they still want you to come in.

If you didn’t say anything and they hired you, it wouldn’t be cool to waste their time and manpower training you.

Plus imagine how less than thrilled they’d be if you didn’t say anything and then when you’re going to move you say “btw can you help me transfer to a store in Oregon?”

If they hire you knowing your situation they’ll be more likely to be willing to help you transfer.
