Learning the Recipes (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by laughingkitten
Very new barista (283****) here and I am having a HARD time learning and remembering the recipes. Is there a website or app or anything that I could use to study?

$1 It doesn’t include the new holiday drinks but you treat those like any latte with normal syrup pump amounts, milk steamed extra hot

On the Frapp part of the document, what are the words under columns A, D, F, G, H, I?

I didn’t make it so unfortunately I don’t have answers :(

Honestly I learned a lot from downloading the Starbucks app and learning the recipes from there. They usually tell you what milk or syrups are used and how much of whatever goes in them depending on the sizes.

Also if you have Starbucks barista buddies who know their stuff well they can quiz you on the recipes! I had an easier time this way since I also practiced the motions for making the beverages while saying each step out loud. Lol I’m a very hands-on learner.

That’s a great suggestion! Thank you so much!

When it was slow, I would stand at the register and type in drinks to see what goes in them! The register should tell you the quantity of each ingredient, which milk, whip or not, etc.

That’s what I’m doing right now but our store stays super busy so there’s hardly any time for that

I’ve heard there are quizlets??
laughingkitten [OP] 1 points 3y ago
I’ll look it up! Thanks!

I’d be weary of using any quizlet because they might not be correct. Honestly if you really want you can look on the Starbucks app, but I would just not stress too much about it. It comes with time and practice I promise. No one is expecting you to have it all memorized straight away. Also never do work off the clock, it’s not worth it.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I had posted the same thing in this thread a while ago. Everyone is super helpful and if you partners are not that helpful then you gotta get them flash cards that come with each store.

Thank you for the response! I’ve been looking at the cards when I have some downtime but everyone has been so helpful, it’s awesome!

Agree with lunamint, get Starbucks app for sure, it will help in reminding you what goes in a drink.

Will do! Thanks!
