I’ve been serving...not medicine balls. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Jewicer
So I am only 2 weeks in as a barista, and today I did a coverage at another, MUCH busier store, so I was already kind of stressed from being a newbie and not being at my usual location.

I *thought* I knew what a medicine ball was...I knew Jade Citrus Mint went into it......and that’s ALL I thought it was. I’m not sure why, and I did feel hints of doubt, but I was nervous to ask. I probably gave out 7 Jade teas today to people who asked for a “medicine balls” before I asked my partner at the end of my shift, “a medicine ball is the jade, right?” ...He then told me it was Jade, ANOTHER tea, steamed lemonade and honey.......Yup, not going back.

Oof, it’s alright, we all make mistakes. I used to think hot chocolate was made with equally as many pumps of vanilla as mocha when I first started. I can only imagine how sweet it was! >.<
For future reference though, never be afraid to ask another partner. Nobody ever minds helping out, we’ve all been there! Also, medicine balls are the honey citrus mint tea on the menu, and it’s different from the citrus defender! I see partners put medicine balls in as citrus defenders all the time!

It's always okay to ask for help. But I'll say when I was a green bean, I didn't know what exactly went into a vanilla bean Frappuccino, so I put the powder and the syrup. For like.... Weeks.

I’ve been making peppermint mochas with only half the pumps of peppermint for years. And I’m a shift. I know it’s incorrect now, but now all my customers are used to my ratio and say it’s way too strong peppermint when another person makes them one. :(
