why do people get nothing but a cup of ice? or double cupped? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by delidoll
Does anyone have people come in and have doable and not really annoying, just odd, requests? Like why do people get things double cupped or just a cup of ice?

Had a girl come in today and got a tall pink drink, no ice, with a venti cup of ice on the side. She also got a venti water with 10 pumps of raspberry. Not quite the same as your thing, but just funny when people try to “beat the system” lol

Because my friend ordered the exact same thing.

Double cupped is for the drink not to sweat if it’s iced or it’s hella hot for hot drinks. Honestly I don’t care about people asking for 2 shots over ice and adding their own milk. That hasn’t ever bothered me. When they order 3 shots in a venti iced cup with 10 pumps white mocha breve to the top then I get annoyed and ring them as a venti Iced white mocha. And charge for the milk breve and no whip. Otherwise I’m a 6 year partner and I just kinda pick my battles.

My husband always gets a dark roast with a cup of ice on the side. He drinks it black so he puts a few ice cubes in to cool it enough to drink and then uses the leftover ice to either eat or put in his refills. If he isn’t staying in the cafe then he doesn’t get the cup of ice on the side. When he’s asked at the counter to add some ice they don’t always add enough or too much so he just gets the ice and does it himself lol
