submitted by rexi_sang
Im currently in time off, and just now I’m hearing about labor cuts, but I don’t know what it is. Could someone explain what will happen to me please?

Just people getting fewer hours on the schedule nationwide, it seems. It hasn’t impacted my store so much because we’re pretty small as it is. Basically they’re not allowing overtime and are trying to trim shifts due to money.

Stores are getting anywhere from 5-15% fewer hours. So my store had about 600 hours of scheduled floor coverage per week, and that was cut down to 510 hours per week. How much it impacts you depends on how many of your hours can be cut. Peak at my store was not cut, but midday, and pre-closing have 1-2 fewer partners scheduled. SSV didn't have much time cut because you always need one in the store, must of the cuts hit baristas with midday availability.

Gotta get those end of the year numbers for promotions and bonuses (that none of us will see.. maybe as a "good job this year" in the Now Brewing)

Our fiscal year ended 12 weeks ago, though - we’re in Q1.
