Labor cuts?? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by hayyy188
I’m lost about these labor cuts? Are they happening everywhere and before they do them does our store manager (the one who make the schedule) let us know? Is it that bad?? I’m a new bean barely a month or so in trying to understand all this. I’m just worried about my hours because honestly I like where I’m at with them (21-30 hours a week). Thank you and I hope you are all having an amazing day. ❤️

I've been told that the company as a whole wasnt doing as expected financially so they're doing labor and extra expenses cuts (no instacarting be more efficient with milk tracking, less training hours, less coverage, pushing SSVs to send people early yada yada)
So yeah we're expecting hours cuts in my store but weve been so high volume lately we're actually earning labor so we're kinda breaking even.

Agree with above, as a whole I have heard the same thing. But our store has been earning labor so no cuts here either. We are on the east coast if that helps. Some regions across the country may be cutting more labor or even per district based on performance compared to previous year.

Edit: a word

$25 mil went missing and then the guy currently in charge of sbux gave himself a $50 mil bonus

There are no cuts here (Ontario) other than the reduced hours EVERY retail company goes through after Christmas which hasn't happened yet
