I've been replying "No they cut our labor so our CEO can get a 50m bonus". Try me mofos. Was a devout employee for 4 years. Not playing this game anymore.

It’ll slowly happen by itself if these practices stick around. I’m a ssv already working 2 jobs. My hours have been cut so much that I’m at risk of losing my health insurance. Those who rely on Starbucks as their only job or main source of income will be forced to either pick up a second job or leave. Taking a second job will often mean that Starbucks is put on the back burner, since it’s the reason a second job is necessary at all. Baristas will become (more) exhausted, and eventually get fed up and leave. My biggest fear right now (other than financial ofc) is the toxicity that will be brewing when we all start feeling the paychecks.
Another concern (maybe store specific) is supervisors stepping down. Ssv are no longer allowed to take regular barista shifts because we “get paid too much”. So anyone who wants more hours will have to demote. Honestly, it’s what I’m considering doing—I bust my ass, but why? So an exec gets 50m? Nah I’d rather demote, keep my insurance, and say f sbux while focusing on my other job.
Edit: oh also cutting down to barebones staff means shit will hit the wall from a single call out, so that’ll be fun too

I’m watching this happen. We have a mass exodus at our store right now because the environment has become so toxic. People are getting favored for hours. Others are burning out. The entire stores atmosphere is now of betrayal and anger. Everyone’s hours are crap and people are blaming each other instead of the company. We have a dm who’s absent. He was an outside hire and never comes around. I’ve been at four stores now and all of them have been wildly undermanned overworking the few baristas capable. Everyone comes in exhausted from school or their other job, we’re all on the verge of losing our homes and our insurance. And this jackass has the balls to accept this?

Huh? Shifts not able to be baristas? What?
remakeplsandagain5 points3y ago
Yeah, so shifts not being able to take barista shifts is a new thing in my district (this week, last week, whenever the cuts started). Ssvs are only allowed to take key holder shifts; if someone needs a shift covered (non key holder) we ssv can’t cover it.

Same here our SM gives holidays to who she wants and hours which I think is really unfair

Does anyone know his exact bonus?

It’s 50mil over a certain amount of time apparently. But that could have covered so many of things baristas struggle with and not been at the expense of cutting labor.
