A customer came in yesterday and wanted a free drink because she got a bad drink from another airport starbucks. (self.starbucksbaristas)

She literally threatened to go off on our store because of a drink made hundreds of miles away. Thank god my shift supervisor stood her ground and refused to give her a free drink.

At the end of the day, give her the free drink because it’s not coming out of your pocket. Happened to me all the time at my store and I just didnt care no matter what the story was. Starbucks was fucking us over regardless

This happens constantly at my store.

I’ve had this happen at my store, however the customer actually brought in the poorly made drink still full so I had no problem remaking it for her. It’s just hard to believe people who come in without the bad drink, or it’s more than halfway gone...

My mindset is when in doubt just give them the drink. Try to make the moment right and you don’t have to pay for the drink yourself so why not just avoid the confrontation.

Unless i'm 100% sure it's a scam then I just give the free drink. It's our job to make the moment right, and starbucks assumes that we're going to have some losses from people cheating the system. But the business model requires us to do that because we're trying to compete on superior customer service, not on beverage quality.

We have another Starbucks across the parking lot of my store and they constantly mess up drinks. Everyone keeps coming over to our store to get it remade but my store no longer remakes drinks unless you bought it from us.
