What’s the deal with coffee donation? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I tried to google it and found nothing, but our store sometimes donates a traveler or two to various organizations. Is this a company-wide thing? Who can they donate to/not donate to? Whose discretion does this fall under?

Typically falls under the sms discretion. If it’s a large donation or any merchandise, my sm requires a letterhead with a tax Id number from the organization. We’ve never said no. Mostly it’s schools who do it around us.
