So i know everyone on this Reddit has dealt with the fight between morning and nights, but has it come to the point to where the ENTIRE night crew is leaving?
Like I’m the only night shift that works and I’ve been doing 45+ hours for the past four weeks and not to mention i did 12 hours Christmas Day and still got complaints that the store was a mess the next day. AND WHY WAS HAPPY HOUR THE NEXT DAY?! Like as soon as i clock in, my SM Told me that the store wasn’t up to par like he wanted it to be I’m like seriously i saw the Sun rise and watched it set on Christmas Day with only one other person and you wanna complain to me about that AND THEN him and the mid crew didn’t even leave me with any preparation for Happy Hour. Him and the other two people there just dipped and left my crew getting overwhelmed and frustrated at each other and trying not to snap at customers taking advantage of the happy hour.
* Note* If it s buy one, get one WHY THE HELL can people order 10 trenta Açaí and get 5 for free that doesn’t come close to a buy one get one and then, if they don’t have a registered card they wanna get upset because Karen and her screaming demons in the back said they got a email about it but can’t pay for they’re 8 venti Frappuccinos.
I know this reddit was all over the place, but I’m like Mentally, physically, and emotionally Drained from working at Starbucks. Don’t get me wrong the company is great to work for after maybe a year or two but after that it’s barely manageable. Customers orders get WAYYY to complicated, partners start talking behind your back and the SM doesn’t do anything about it, don’t get me started on Happy Hour.... my point to this is after this year i had found out after i was leaving the company my night crew had found out and had said they wanted to leave with me as well because they couldn’t work didn’t wanna work without me and Tbh i think that says something about my store and the management. Thanks for coming to me TED talk hope you guys have a wonderful shift and Friday.

This is going to sound insane....does your store use the clean safe and ready cards? I find stores that do tend to leave everything better for the next shift. They ensure everyone is set up for success. Plus doing a store walk right when you walk in is a great way to say hey, we can't provide a good customer experience right now and write it in the book. As a former closer turned opener turned mid i agree that WAY too much tends to fall on the closing staff. The CSR cards keep it moderated. Mids do drains, fridges, dish sink cleanup, bathrooms, floors, etc. Basically close is supposed to be wash all the things, wipe all the counters, mop. Ask for help implementing the csr cards. They are company standard. If your manager doesn't support it ask your dm for help.

Though basically your manager sounds like a steaming pile of garbage and i hope things get better!

They do use the ready cards but they focus more on they’re times and customers connections which is nothing wrong about that but when it comes time for them to leave they leave without notification that they are and leave me with a dirty store and i did ask the DM and i got written up for it

If they were using csr cards it wouldn't be a mess. And you can't get written up for going to the dm. That's retaliation and basically leads quickly to termination for a manager. Maybe bring up the Ss approach (prepare, lead, transition.) A very important part is setting your replacement for success. I'm assuming your manager isn't the keyholder, but your midshift should be checking in before they leave as part of your transition. I would go to partner resources, let them know you were retaliated against for going to the DM with your concerns, and ask what to do moving forward.
