Has anyone ever waited so long to get started on training? What is the average wait time before you begin training?
I was told to come in one day to do some paperwork and go through some kind of orientation with the manager. So I went in and was told that I needed to fill out documents online before coming in and that I was just going to finalize the I-9 form by presenting my ID and SSN. Since I’ve been offered the position, I’ve been so eager to start working but it’s all be delayed because of the holidays and a minor failure on my part (accepting the offer on the SB website two days after because I didn’t notice the first email that came in). I’ve been restless because it seems like forever and it’s making me think that I should just start looking for another job or a position at another location.

We’ve been on a training freeze. The past like three weeks my SM wasn’t able to schedule any training hours which included training for the winter period that starts Jan 7th. Labor cuts are great.

I wish they had been more open about the labor cuts so I can think of other things to do over the break; a veil of cluelessness was just cast over me. When did they start making these cuts?

Because of the labor cuts Starbucks shelling out, I think I saw on here that corporate has suspended all training until the beginning of next quarter. Don’t lose hope! 😅

If I had known right off the bat that I wouldn’t start until next year I would’ve applied for seasonal positions to be more productive and earn a few bucks during the holidays. They just told me that it would be impossible to train during this time, whatever that meant; I thought that it would be busy or that people will be on leave.
I’m just waiting on these emails with all those forms to fill out. I’ve followed up with the store manager and initially she told me that would call one day and so I waited until the next day to ask for updates — only for her to tell me that she will make a call in the coming Monday.

I actually didn't start until 2-3 weeks after accepting the offer. The schedule is made three weeks in advance, so it's probably just hard to work you in there

Did your background check clear?

Yes

You may not be on the schedule for up to 21 days. But you do need to talk with your manager to find out when you will be on the schedule.
