I’m sorry what? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Starbucks is giving away free tall espresso drinks for an hour everyday until December 31st... and they began this right after cutting everybody’s hours ?

Is this real life?

I check the locations every day hoping it wont be my store:/ i feel so bad for the baristas who have to deal with this plus happy hour every fucking thursday, its crazy.

Stores were already notified if they were selected for this. You are (hopefully) in the clear if you weren’t notified of your store’s participation. Also the Starbucks website has a list by state if you’re curious. :)

My store is doing it on New year's Eve. Luckily, I switched shifts with someone 😉

I just learned about this today. It's honestly infuriating. Thank God it's only for an hour, but still. Starbucks apparently HAS to do labor cuts to stay profitable, yet they can afford to give away how many hundreds of thousands of dollars a DAY to give away free espresso drinks?!
If Starbucks as a company truly cared about its partners, they would NOT do this. The stress that it puts on baristas, SM's and SSV's alone is reason to never do something like this.

Sometime soon I will see the bad outweigh the good (insurance, school, flexibility-ish) with this company and find something better. Because this shit they are pulling is ridiculous. 😩

I’m scheduled to run a shift on a pop up party tomorrow. We’ve been understaffed and out of product for weeks but yeah free drinks for everyone.

I was asked about this once yesterday. It made me really glad to work in a licensed store.
