i’m a two month old green bean and i’m also a true introvert. this job is a lot on me emotionally so i truly enjoy my days off to just recharge. i’ve been working the past five days straight and tomorrow makes six days, then i get two days off.

it’s been a crazy few days from christmas day, to day after christmas crappy hour, and today, my store also had a pop-up party. from having to explain to people that they can’t get a caramel ribbon crunch frap bc it’s not an espresso based drink multiple times in addition to my toxic SSV barking commands over the headset while customers are ordering AND the store manager getting upset that our DT times were ten seconds higher than normal, i’m quite drained to be frank. so i’m really looking forward to my two well deserved days off.

that was until, my manager informed me that i have to come in for winter training on one of my day off. granted, it’s only thirty mins, but to me, it’s crushing. i truly enjoy my space away from starbucks and with everything going on, i hate that i have to devote more of my time to this stupid company.

but cheers, gang. hopefully 2020 will be better for all of us. :/

Fellow two month old green bean here, It’s definitely pretty rough often and even harder for an introvert. It’s only 30 mins/24hrs of training, plan a fun type of day so you have something to look forward to after going back to a soul sucking place (that fun may even been, sweet unbridled sleep). I’ve been having pretty hard shifts as of late with my anxiety and rude older partners, having something fun planned after my shift has saved me.

Where do you work that it's legal to bring you in for 30 mins? In Ontario you have to pay 3 hours minimum if you come into work

i’m in southern united states. i think they can get away with it because it’s just training.
