Hey y’all green bean here (2 months) and lately I’ve just been discouraged. Every shift a co worker fights with me or is mad at me for asking questions. I am not a slow leaner, I have learned how to bar by myself ( at slower times) and actually remember most recipes. About five employees were hired about a month or two before me and seem to not know as much as I do... but a shift told one of my co workers that they feel like I’m just not catching now I’m slow. I’ve been praised by other shift leaders about how I’m doing but my shift to say that about me kinda just made me feel shitty.. the job has been hard on me and some times I don’t know if I can keep doing it. Does it get easier? Do you have any tips on keeping it together when customers or co worker are mean? I don’t know what I wanted to accomplish from this but I just felt like I should get it out! Thank u for your time ❣️

hi! as a parter of only 5 months, it does get better!
- if your coworkers are angry about questions, that’s on them, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to make sure you make drinks right.
- if there are rude customers, all you can do really is “i’m so sorry about that” and offer to fix their issue. don’t take the yelling to heart, at the end of the day, it’s just a cup of coffee. or whatever blended sugar monstrosity they ordered.
- tip: if your main questions are what goes into each drink, try and see if there’s a register not being used! if it’s open, tap in the drink you’re making and it should tell you on the side how many of what thing go into your drink

good luck with everything! just remember that it does get better :)

I totally get that. Most of my co-workers are nice but there is this one that is really hard on green beans and it bothers me because this is a hard job, there is a lot to remember. I promise you it’ll only get better from here and to look at the positive side of things, like the nice co-workers and customers.💖
