Pop up nightmare (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by fjclr
Yesterday I worked the pop up and only knew it was happening that day due to someone telling me 30 min before as its not my home store... stickers to the ground cups lined up all across the counter and a line out the door the whole time. I had a straight panic attack on the floor and had to be taken off bar 2 halfway through despite being a day in day out peak bar partner at a high volume store because I was so stressed out. Now I’m seriously doubting my bar skills, feeling useless, and wishing I’d never worked that shift.. Anyone else deal with the pop up nightmare?

I’m scheduled to run the shift on a pop up party tomorrow. We’ve been constantly out of product and understaffed but yeah let’s give out free drinks.

Don't take it out on yourself! You did your best and those events are hard for anyone to keep up. Just keep your chin up and remember it's just a job

I actually had a lot of support from my SM and DM. we had extra staff and my DM was working POS and my SM was on bar for it. But I heard horror stories from the next district over that the had very little preparation and not enough staff.
