Advice on going from shift back to barista? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by AndGood
I’ve been a partner for about nine months now and I was promoted to shift at my store about 2-3 months ago. I enjoy being a shift but the rest of the shift team has so much drama that I feel like it would be easier just to demote myself. Has anyone else done this? What is the process?

It’s up to you and your own personal goals I can’t say either way for you....but if you enjoy doing it and it’s just the others making it difficult for you then something needs to change. You can transfer, but it’s possible you may run into the same issue as in general most shifts are going to have some kind of drama and pettiness. The other option which I think you should consider is maybe looking at yourself and seeing how you could overcome this feeling. Are you doing anything wrong or falling short at your job? If not then f#*k them. You’ll have to try to find a way to be calm and just go about your business and stay out of the drama yourself. Or if there’s something to work on, be the better person and address it and start working on it. I mean I really don’t know your situation at all, just trying to provide some point of views. Also if you just don’t see management as your thing and would rather just be a barista that is understandable too! I had a partner do that and she is perfectly content. Good luck!
