do y’all think being messaged by a customer complaining about their $5 latte on a dating / hook up app inappropriate?(i.redd.it)

You’re so much nicer than I would’ve been lmao
kandiestlaurent [OP]52 points3y ago
i really wanted to say more but i got right in my spirit and mind before i replied LMAO
StormTheParade58 points3y ago
Insanely inappropriate!
That said, I have told people I match with to meet me at my store at the end of my shift so we can go get food and I offer them a free drink on me lmao
kandiestlaurent [OP]23 points3y ago
i feel like that’s different because you’re like opening the invitation for that person to know you like that if that makes sense, like this makes me wanna pull him aside and tell him how inappropriate it is and not to do this ever again with me or any of my baristas
Pomitlicious12 points3y ago
What if it doesn’t work out and then they know where you work 😵
StormTheParade5 points3y ago
9 times out of 10, unless you're giving your work location to everyone and their mum, you're fine. Also important to note I was doing this in the heart of Dallas, Texas which is a massive city.
My SSV, the one who got me into Tinder and stuff, used to use it more frugally than I, and only ever had one guy who tried to find our store after he was blocked on everything, and that didn't even count because it was with good intentions.
Ziaheart2 points3y ago
I don't know... if I block someone on everything, I'd rather they move on instead of trying to figure out where I work so that they can talk to me in person. Even if it was just to apologize rather than confront me.
StormTheParade5 points3y ago
He was making sure she was alive as she blocked him mid-date and drove home drunk
kandiestlaurent [OP]3 points3y ago
that is true and scary but kind of unrelated to the point i meant to make
silversungoddess1 points3y ago
I get where you’re going with the safety part BUT you should meet in a public place and what’s more public than a Sbux where all, or most, of the partners there will have your back and be super attentive when they know you’re going on a date and it’s starting there (even if it’s just cause they’re nosy lol)
MrDinkles77671 points3y ago
It’s inappropriate and creepy
MonstrousGiggling12 points3y ago
Wait did he open up the conversation with that??? Wooow.
Only way this would he appreciate is if it somehow organically came into the conversation and even then like...dont be a rude cunt about it. Like how is it on you that your coworker made a mistake? What a tool.
I gotta ask though, was he cute? Lmfao
Harrabots9 points3y ago
A big fat "fuck you" would have served too. You're not on your work schedule so technically you don't owe them shit, and that message is creepy af.
b2m0k8 points3y ago
Oh def would not have responded. One of our baristas was fired because of a Facebook conversation with a customer. The customer sent the screenshot to corporate and corporate fired him and there was nothing our SM could do to save a long term employee.
Oh and I would save this for yourself in case they try to come after you. Your response was nice. In the future, block these messages. Screenshot, then block. Customers can get weirdly attached. Be careful.
kandiestlaurent [OP]3 points3y ago
thank u sm!!! i appreciate the advice 🤍
cheesenoodlecheese1 points3y ago
What did the conversation entail that deserved immediate termination??
b2m0k1 points3y ago
I'm not sure. I didn't have this person on my Facebook at the time and my coworker told me that it was some argument on Facebook that all of them could see. They had said it was inappropriate but no one thought anyone would get fired over it. I didn't pry.
kandiestlaurent [OP]6 points3y ago
i know i typo’d i’m sorry

Just when I thought Grindr couldn't get any worse. I've seen and experienced homophobia, racism, transphobia and other issues on that godforsaken app but to see this level of pettiness is absolutely ridiculous.
cactuskirby5 points3y ago
Making you do costumer service on a dang dating app chat?? Maaann this is another level. Sorry you had to do this!
hexsan915 points3y ago
I’d have been like, “I don’t care unless you give really BIG tips.” 😜🍆💦
TheBlueSuperNova5 points3y ago
Grindr is just full of gross people. Can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been stalked by people who thinks it’s appropriate to message me about if I work at a certain bucks and y’all about my work in there.
chance0425 points3y ago
The emoji had me dead
golden_pinky4 points3y ago
What a fucking weirdo. "Lol, you and your coworkers suck at their job, wanna smash."
Not now I don't.
PsychicPissJug4 points3y ago
That person is super cringey. People's sense of boundaries seem to go right out the window when it comes to technology as a form of communication.
Guilty_Owlz3 points3y ago
Absolutely not. Waaaaaay inappropriate.
thememequeenv33 points3y ago
What the actual fuck. People take this shit too personally
glass_castles3 points3y ago
Wow what a douchebag lol
Miss_Alaynius2 points3y ago
F
silversungoddess2 points3y ago
Wow. Definitely inappropriate for a first message. I could see if you guys started talking and you mentioned working at Sbux and THEN he told you that as a convo piece (still not a very good convo anyway)
Gotta know...did he respond? Lol
xandyrex2 points3y ago
You were SO much nicer than I ever could have been. The fucking audacity is uncanny.
