Lots of things thrown at you at once. Remember to ask questions when they come to you!

- Don’t be afraid to ask questions, a lot of information is going to be thrown at you all at once
- In the beginning, you might feel bad for not knowing what to do or that you’re bothering people by asking / making mistakes. Everyone has been where you are and we all know what it’s like to be new and are more than willing to help you
- It’s okay if you feel like you don’t fit in with your coworkers as much as you would like - they’ve known each other a lot longer than you have, and you will get to know them like that eventually
- Be patient with yourself - you’re not going to know everything off the bat

As a seasoned partner... breathe!! It’s just a cup of coffee : )

Yes. "Its just coffee" has become a mantra in my store during crazy times. Said it at least 26 times today 😂😂

I hear yah! Even as a seasoned partner... working at crazy busy stores where there has been regularly a 25 drink line up....

Just keep swimming is another good mantra :)

One of my baristas regularly says that and it's a favorite of mine too 😊 helps to remain calm lol

Hey, I start January 6th so once you start, any advice for me? As a new barista?
indynyx 1 points 3y ago
Don't be afraid to tell a customer you're new and thank them for their patience with you - "bear with me, I'm new, but thank you for being patient with me". Saved me from a couple of pissed off customers
