Question regarding benefits (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by nightkat89
So I’m a recently new partner and I know rolling into today I’m definitely past 3 months with the siren. I decided not to renew my Medicaid because I thought Starbucks would be a bit prompt sending out a packet to sign up and get started with benefits, but I havnt received anything.

Do they send out a packet? Do you have to reach out to someone? I’m just ignorant to all of this and could use some guidance.

Log into the benefits center on mysbuxben and see if your enrollment is there. If not, call the benefits center because they’re super helpful!

Do you have their number by chance? Or is this something I can access at home? I have the next couple of days off so not in store.

$1 is good to keep around!

One last
Dumb question, I’m trans and was told there was a line we can call and have someone assist us with deciding a healthcare plan. Do you know if that info?

I’d call a trans resource and discuss it with them. Maybe Trevor project?

It’s 3 full consecutive months after hire averaging 20+ hours a week. I got emails, letters and logged into the benefits site.
So I started mid-August, average well over 20 hours a week and was eligible to sign up Dec 1 and coverage began 1/1. So August didn’t count since it wasn’t a full month for me, and they averaged my weekly hours for Sept Oct Nov and found I was eligible and my enrollment period was 12/1-12/31 for coverage beginning 1/1.
SSV’s and above get insurance at 2 months not 3.
It’s weird.

All the info is on partnerhub. Log on and go to the benefits tab, from there you can sign up for insurance, 401(k) and all your other benefits. There is an packet online that helps explain the benefits and you can also call the benefits hotline to talk to someone to help you figure it out.

Starbucks started sending me info before I was eligible i think. Either way, Log on to mysbuxben and it will tell you if you’re eligible - you’ll have to have hit the minimum hours for the 3 month period, and also if you started after a certain day in the first month then the hours for benefits don’t start accruing until the next month.
