New store (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I recently transferred to a new store. The SM of my previous store was... meticulous, to say the least. In a good way though. It’s much more lax at my new store. I ask about some tasks that they don’t do that my old store had us do, and I feel weird about it... like I feel like they think I’m a know it all or a hard ass or some shit...I just roll with the punches and do as the romans, but it’s a super weird vibe going into a more lax environment after being so used to doing everything by the book to the tee. Anyone else experienced this?

I started out at a super lax store. I did health code training to become an SSV and was like holy shit, how have we not been shutdown yet. And when I confronted the SM about it he said it was fine because we had a great customer connection score, and to stop worrying about it (I had a chat with the DM who said basically the same thing in more diplomatic language). And my reaction was it's literally your job to pay attention to this and do it right. It was a really tough experience because at first everyone thought I was a jerk for asking people to do things that are in their job description.

Happened to me. New SM says follow things have you been taught since it is standard. New SSVs and baristas hate me. I’m leaving Sbux since new SM promised me 35 hours and I’m getting 18

Right! Like they don’t dump the espresso hoppers at night or empty the ice bin, and serve food out of the display case like....holy shit lmao. I don’t know about the display case part but it seems questionable to me lol

Exactly. We do these things not because it's some arbitrary bit of health code, but because that's how you make sure you don't make your customers sick.
