Partner ride sharing? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by alycrawford42-
I thought I’d heard something about Starbucks and Uber offering rides for partners going to work? Did I dream that up or is it a real thing?

Although, if a store is asking for help and you volunteer to help, the requesting store has the ability to do a paid out for your Uber/Lyft fare. In fact, they SHOULD pay your fare.

I remember when I first started I had lost my car keys, and had no one to give me a ride to work. I was picking up a shift at a store and the SM told me to get a taxi or an Uber, and I explained that I just started working I didn't have any money and then she threatened to write me up. I was having a full-on panic attack because I was afraid I'd lose my job for not being able to show up and then threatening to write me up on top of it just threw me over the edge. I wish that she WOULD have offered to pay Uber or Lyft, we're always trying to "make the moment right" for customers when are we going to make the moments right for our Baristas?

Hey, you know what? That’s a great question. We should be striving to make the moment right for our Baristas equally to how we make the moment right for our Customers. Our Baristas are the backbone and rock of our Company, and the one piece that we couldn’t do without. We wouldn’t have Customers without the amazing talents of our Baristas.
With that said, I’m sorry your Store Manager had a lapse in upholding our mission and didn’t make that moment right for you. Rest assured that those Leaders do have a way of either developing in the right direction, or finding their way in a different. Know that we do care, and want more than ever for you to feel that...truly. Like I said, we couldn’t do it without you, and we really wouldn’t want to. Whether you’re still with the company or not, I appreciate that feedback, and the opportunity to discuss the opportunities that we still have to overcome. :)

I think there may be, I hope there is. I almost always Uber to/from work and 4-6 days a week at $10 per trip + tip.. it adds up.

it seriously adds up. i heard the lyft/uber offers are only for openers and closers. /: which sucks bc i'm like, just under openers and just before closers.

No. There is no benefit for Uber/Lyft. The benefit is for public transportation or for if you have to pay to park near your job. It’s also not a reimbursement, it’s that you don’t have to pay tax on the money you spend on these things.
