hey, my SM is super new and can't answer any of my questions right now. I am trying to take about 8 weeks off this summer to go on a hiking trip. my SM said that I would definitely need to take a leave of absence. I don't want it to be paid or anything, I just need the time off. do any of you know how to make this happen? I signed onto Sedgwick, but it seems like it wants me to create a claim in order to be paid out.

Yup I’m on a leave of absence right now just call Sedgwick and fill out the paperwork

Sedgwick is for medical leaves of absence, FMLA, disability, workplace injury and that kind of thing.
Partners with 10+ years of service can take a "coffee break" which is up to 1 year off while maintaining benefits.
I think you're looking for a personal leave of absence. If this is a vacation then this is something your SM has to approve. If you try to request more than 3 consecutive days off through teamworks you get a prompt to request a leave of absence.
