Should I switch to a corporate store?(self.starbucksbaristas)

I work at an airport starbucks part time and the benefits suck. I have to pay for parking and I can’t accept tips. Not only that there is always a line until 11pm at night. It gets to the point where I’m trying to fall asleep but I keep thinking I have cups to finish making up. It never stops and the benefits of a corporate starbucks is kinda appealing. Do you think I should make the move. I want to feel somewhat relaxed whenever I work and not always feel Like I don’t have time to breathe.

Absolutely make the switch, just double check that pay is equal or better in your area. If you can, bring your barista certification with you so you dont have to redo it. Also, try to review your recipe cards and make sure everything you know is up to standard; licensed stores have a reputation for being subpar, so they may not trust you on your word alone.

This and factor in what you pay for parking and mental health. If you made a $1 or two less, but you got tips, better benefits, and less mental stress I say it’s worth it. But any more then I’d keep looking or try local coffee shops

Yes, make the switch. It might not be a more relaxed environment depending on where you live, or if you go to a store with or without a drive thru, but the benefits are wonderful and you get tips. Even if you end up having to redo barista basics, I'd say it's well worth it

What company do you work for at the airport? I work at an airport and because Starbucks says we can get tips the company I work for makes an exception and we get tips. We split tips every shift.

I used to work at a Target Starbucks and corporate is infinitely better; I'm never alone, I get free food and drinks, and I use my tips for gas, snacks, whatever

Honestly it depends, I started at a corporate store but switched to a licensed store and I’m enjoying it so much more

Definitely, benefits are great and it’s much better wearing what you want, of course there are some color requirements but it’s a lot more dressed down.
Also if you do get the job at a corporate, my SM who I love and appreciate very much threw me in without training since I did have experience though I wish I did because I had to learn a few things based on first hand experience while there. So just try to get training to the capacity of what you might not be aware of.
