I have been back at the Bux for a whole month. My first time around I did not receive any bar training so I only know POS and how to clean. When I started here, the store was on fire. The SM has let everything go and it was just... bad.
New SM steps in. Things are improving by leaps and bounds. She’s incredible and so nice. She promised she would get me proper bar training. I was working 3-4 days a week (part time 2nd job)
And then
I was cut to 1 day a week.
I’m honestly hurt. I am basically still a green bean with little experience. What did I do?
I know worldwide labor is being cut, but I think this is something else because she cut my hours and is still borrowing partners every day?
I have asked her to call me after peak as I never actually see her. I’m nervous about what will be said.

It could also be your availability combined with the labor cuts. That’s what my SM has told me multiple times.

And I totally considered that, but my availability is the same as what the borrowed partners are covering when I’m not scheduled 🙃

Oooooh, yea I’d definitely talk to your SM then. I’ve had to go so far as to talking to my DM about it because my SM kept brushing me off.

honestly i think it is because january and february are the slowest months. i just got cut back on hours too and asked someone about it and she said it’s just so slow these months, the holiday rush happened now the warmer months will bring frappuccino season so i wouldn’t worry too much about it. it does suck though :(

one other thing could be the borrowed partners being key holders? maybe someone calling out was a SSV and your SM needed to borrow someone that could handle those duties? also a green bean so i might have no idea what i'm talking about but just a thought. let us know what happens!

January to April is when we will have our biggest labor cuts, I’ve been with Sbux for almost 4 years and a shift for 2 of those years!!! I would talk to her about it thought that seems weird maybe it’s not being able to bar, maybe you can see if you could come in on a day you’re available and learn. That’s how I did it because of my availability was during peak only for a year and a half

Do the borrowed partners know how to bar? Your store manager may not be able to schedule you due to a mismatch in skills for the needs of that time period.
