feelings are a waste and make you weak (self.starbucksbaristas)

i’ve gotten over dreading work and the long hours of nothing but standing and being so exhausted after. i haven’t had the energy to do anything social in 2 weeks. so i’ve figured the best way to live now is to get over how i feel and ignore my feelings cuz they’re just a waste in the end. let’s see how my 7 hours go tomorrow...

You come first. If you're feeling hopeless it's probably time for you to seek therapy. I hope you feel better soon.

It sounds like you need to call in sick and use some sick hours to get rest. Fuck starbucks.

i’ll just go and ignore the pain in my legs and the slow drooping of my back as i lose energy because i’ve had nothing but caffeine and chemical syrups to consume for the last 3 hours

Nope.

Here’s what you do.

Call your store

Tell them you have a fever of 101 (which is a medium grade fever)

A sore throat and a cough

You’re contagious so you can’t work

Take today off

And maybe the next two days off too

Write it in the daily records book to get your sick pay

Take some ibuprofen or aspirin for your pain

Drink some water

Eat something basic and easy

Maybe take a comfy shower or bath

Get in bed

Take care of yourself like you’re ill

And maybe see a therapist or psychiatrist if you want to once you feel better
