PLEASE ask questions!

You're going to be getting a lot of information thrown at you so just take it easy and remember that you're not going to be perfect right off the bat.

Remember to start the coffee timer immediately when it goes off, then go brew your coffee.

Remember it's just coffee; it's not the end all be all to the world.

My best piece of advice is probably make time your friend. Get really comfortable and conscious with the fact time passes. This is how I approach a few different bits of the job. Time needs to be your best friend when you're on C.S, getting used to timing yourself and living each step and routine to that thirty minute cycle is so important. You need to pace yourself accordingly, making sure you get everything accomplished in a timely manner so you can keep going and pacing yourself to that time.

But also whenever you're feeling upset or frustrated or stressed, just know time passes. Meaning no matter how this rush is, it's still going to pass. The line of drinks will go by because you're going to keep going and make it happen because you're going to put effort into every second. On register you're gonna make it through that line of customer because you are greeting each one and getting their order as quick as you can. No matter how a bad shift is, the hours are gonna go by and you will clock out at the end.

Becoming much more aware of how I spend my moments at work has helped me develop tremendously. I really enjoy being able to center myself with the fact I'll make it through whatever the situation is, because it's guaranteed to pass just because nothing lasts forever.

And congratulations!

Some P.S Tips

\-It's just coffee at the end of the day

\-Your coworkers might just be your best friends

\-And if nothing else, do it for the free drinks and spotify

As others have already said, ask questions! We WANT you to ask questions and learn, and I promise you’re not burdening or annoying us. We’d rather you learn and become independent than be stuck not knowing for longer than you need to.

Also, clean as you go. It’ll save you a headache

Bring a little notebook with you and keep it in your apron with a pen. Use it to jot down notes while people teach you so you can study it and/or look things up on the fly
