So I need some opinions... (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I’m almost a two year partner and have always been looking to develop! My whole time with Starbucks I have pushed and pushed to get better and better everyday so I could eventually become a shift. About 9 months ago I became a trainer with a couple of other people and I have been rocking it out. I have trained the most people out of all of them very successfully and actually just got another trainee. We had a shift supervisor step down and so there were three of us that got pretty excited since we’ve been looking to develop. I honestly think I am the most qualified and best prepared for it as I’ve been doing shift duties ( minus money) for months now. Our manger has been talking us that she is just waiting for the right time to promote but our current shifts are drowning in the workload and need someone. Well the manager made me start working weekends all day and mids for most of the weeks, telling me it would be the shift positions schedule basically when she promotes, all while I’m fil time in college. All of the shifts love me and really want me to join their team and one that I love so much told me something today because she thought I deserved to know... she told me that à ss that started at our store and then moved five montages ago is coming back to fil in a ss position because they wouldn’t make him a sm in the district where he moved like he expected... the manger hasn’t said anything about it and is continuing to string me along and having me do all of this shift work to basically slap me in the face and say “ sorry maybe next time..” idk what to do. I’m crying the bathroom right now because I have literally quit my life for this place and was so excited... I just needed to say something and ask for some opinions on what I should do because o think it’s wrong and so do all the ss in our store...

Don’t get stuck in the starbucks cycle. You’re in school, FOCUS ON THAT. This isn’t your career so don’t worry about it. It’s awesome you’re always striving to be better but just keep with school and work harder for a company that values you more as an employee once you graduate and will benefit your career, not just a part time college job. Don’t be out here selling yourself short for starbucks. Say fuck them and just keep being an awesome employee but remember it’s not your life and there is better things coming than just a shift at a starbucks. You’re awesome ! Don’t let this knock u down. (-: love from Chicago.
