SBUX shifts (self.starbucksbaristas)

As a shift, how many of you spend too much time on bar and not running your shift? Like being put on a shift with ALL of the fucking new people in the store so you literally have no choice. 😒

My shifts would never help us lol they let us drown. It’ll be me, 3 new people, and an SSV. And it’s up to me to bar alone, help take orders, run to put food in, take questions from front person, run to the back for stuff, make backups in between drinks, and not cry while my SSV spends 3 hours in the back before they come up to let us know they have to do the pull and go into the back again and I’m always like WAIT WHAT TF WERE YOU DOING BEFORE BACK THERE

So honestly I think it’s great that at least you’ll help out because I dream of having a shift that’ll help the team.

I have a shift who always says I don’t have to Touch Bar if I have keys. Like tf? We’re both shifts, why tf am I always on bar while everybody else just bullshits until I take over the shift. My team loves me because I care about them and help them whenever they need me. I will not get my shift stuff done if they get too busy. I manage my time pretty well but sometimes I’m left with a shit show. I can not stand supervisors who don’t do anything. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I just put the head set on and talk them through it. Not a perfect fit, but it lets me get pull done.

I feel this. I always have no choice but to bar during happy hours. So that’s cool. Literally was feeling a fever coming on yesterday but had no choice but to be on bar until my replacement came in....
