transferring to a store in a different country? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by j_delightful
some backstory; i’m originally from new england in the good ole us of a, and within the next few years, i’m planning on movie to canada with my girlfriend (after i graduate college!) — assuming everything goes smooth with the permanent residency, would the process of transferring from a united states store to a canadian store hypothetically be the same as a normal transfer?

It is definitely a different process, if I'm not mistaken you would get a new partner number and everything. What I would suggest is that closer to your move, when you have an idea of where you'll be living, reach out to your current DM for assistance. They should be able to find out how to put you in touch with management in the area of Canada you'll be moving, and walk you through the process.

It is more complicated but it happens all the time and any Canadian manager will be happy to have you. The company is usually very helpful in facilitating stuff like this for partners.
