Starbuck codes (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MundaneSurprise
Hey, new hire here. I just got my training and my trainee did a good job of explaining the stuff.
All those codes just went over my head. Are there any resources that help to get me involved faster and do things right(at least after 2,3-time :p)
Customers just come up with fancy orders I don't even think I can mark the cup right :P

I know it comes with practice. I just want to train myself faster so that I can focus more on acads :)
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Btw, I respect each of you guys more now. It's not an easy job :D

Making flash cards for popular drinks can help!

That would surely help. Thanks.

I found that when I was training a while ago I looked up starbucks drink quizzes and a quizlet came up for codes and the make of drinks! Maybe try googling something like that! Or your store should have little books that I personally call barista bibles that have codes in them for all the drinks and a chart where you fill out the number of shots and pumps of syrup! you could just make that your little handbook and always have it with you to refer to! In the end your team is there to help you so repetition is always the answer and it takes a month to get a routine down so give yourself time to really let it all come together ! Making drinks and seeing the codes on cups when your on bar helps a lot also!

I hope this helps you !

Not kidding. I did just that. Found this on Quizlet: https://quizlet.com/380978999/starbucks-flash-cards/?x=1jqU&i=dx2uw.
It sure helps. I'm confident that I'll do well like everyone :)
Thanks. Have a great day

You’re still marking cups at your store? 😳
Well, if you never know how to properly label a drink on a cup, on the Register when you put in a drink, on the right side below the modifiers is a little box that says DRINK and that’s how you code it on the cup at the bottom in the same box that says DRINK. Then add any modifiers like N for nonfat milk or S for soy, the amount of shots if more, or B for blonde, X in the decaf box if it’s decaf, and any flavor additions or syrups in the syrup box, etc. And then anything else they changed in the CUSTOM box, like no scoop straw for a pink drink or something. But if you ever wonder how to do it, it’s all on the drink order screen for ya! Good luck :)

Most licensed stores still mark cups. Also I’m pretty sure their pos doesn’t hav le the codes on it.

Oh man, I had no clue! Well that’s a complete bummer then! :/

Correct. The store I work in is in the university and doesn't have any codes. We were asked to remember the codes and ask help if necessary. We are asked to memorize the number of shots and syrup for all the drinks.

That makes it way more difficult. I know it's hard to remember. If many people are doing this there should be a better way of doing it than practicing on customers :)

Everyone has to memorize all the recipes and shots and syrups, it comes with time don’t worry too much. I don’t know any resources for codes except for the recipe cards which your store hopefully has.
