It will be busy! College kids definitely need their caffeine but I loved it when I did bc they are the most understanding ppl when it comes to being busy and whatnot!

Hello i work at a Starbucks on my college campus! The busiest times will definitely be in the morning or afternoon where students are rushing to get their caffeine before class. I would say working in a college campus is definitely more chill than working at a corporate chain college kids tend to care less than older adults, I can’t even count how many times I have screwed up a double-shot or a hot chocolate(don’t ask how its been a long day)for some reason people don’t notice why their HC is so bitter. If you want a more chill day I would definitely say take the night shift if you plan on wanting to work there. I would say the best tip is to not overcharge for the coffee like our POS system is different from the corporate ones and we still use sharpies so we really only charge for like extra syrup(obv we have to charge for extra shots or milk)when we feel like that person is a jerk, college kids who order on the regular will notice that their coffee price is a bit off. This leads to more people wanting to cheat the system and its just not a fun day during peak when 20 people come up to the bar asking for extra syrup etc. for the first couple of weeks dont be afraid to ask the other baristas for help! And if you don’t feel up to the pressure of the bar ask to he put somewhere else, warming is a much more chill position. In all college kids are much more understanding of peak hours and overall really, there are going to be exceptions of course
