That’s something that’s drilling me ever since coming back from holiday season. Customers forget that we’re people. No one would walk into a mom and pop cafe saying “grande mocha Frappuccino for Lori, no receipt” then shove their card in and walk away. Half of my customers respond with “good and you? Lemme get....” which hurts because I never ask how are you. I look forward to connecting while waiting for a card to process. Now when customers do compliment me on “looking like I enjoy my job” I understand. You treat employees like robots, you produce robots.
